Description
Amit Deutsch recently graduated from Berkeley with a degree in psychology. His interest in the mind and the effects of group mentalities began in high school when he started interviewing Holocaust survivors and publishing their stories. His talk focuses on the roles that narratives play in perpetuating both group and interpersonal conflicts and how individuals can come to see the difference between people as they appear in our narratives and people as they really are. ------------------- TEDxBerkeley 2010 - Doing the Unprecedented - took place on Saturday, April 3rd, 2010 at UC Berkeley. Over 700 attendees and 157,000 live-stream viewers enjoyed the day. About TEDx, x = independently organised event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organised events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organised events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organised TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organised.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
